I was saddened to learn that DJ Cheb i Sabbah<\/a> passed away after a long battle with cancer. Well loved by the dance and world music community, he was supported by fundraising efforts<\/a> as he sought treatment in the USA and abroad.<\/p>\n Cheb i Sabbah mixed a fusion of dance beats with Arabic, Indian, and northern African sounds and redefined world music. We owe so much to him and his innovations, and countless others followed in his path.
